  • Series History: Marquette leads 7-4
  • Marquette sophomore guard Darius Johnson-Odom scored a career-high 22 points, 20 of which came in the first half. Johnson-Odom hit the first four of his attempts from long range.
  • MU senior guard David Cubillan contributed a career-high seven assists in the game.
  • The Golden Eagles shot a season-best 61.9 percent from behind the three-point line in the contest and hit a season-best 13 treys.
  • Marquette also connected on 35 of its 57 field goal attempts for a field goal percentage of 61.4, also its highest of the season.
  • Providence sophomore forward Jamine Peterson was assessed a flagrant technical foul at the 2:28 mark in the first half and ejected from the game. As the ejection was not for fighting, Peterson will be available for the Friars in their next game on Jan. 23 against USF.
  • MU senior guard Maurice Acker reached a career-high 23 points. Acker also hit a career-high six treys and was a perfect 6-of-6 from three. Cubillan was also a perfect 6-of-6 from long range against Georgetown on Jan. 6.
  • Today's 93 points by MU marks its highest point total in a BIG EAST contest since it defeated No. 25/23 Georgetown, 94-82, in Milwaukee on Jan. 31, 2009.
  • That game against Georgetown was also the last time that MU had three players reach 20-or-more points. In that contest, Lazar Hayward and Wesley Matthews each had 23 points, while Jerel McNeal had a game-high 26 points.
  • Marquette improves to 17-1 under head coach Buzz Williams when it shoots 50 percent-or-better.
  • The victory was Williams' 50th career victory as a collegiate head coach.
