  • Series History: Marquette leads 15-3
  • Senior forward Lazar Hayward's 18 points give him 1,689 in his career, moving him past Wesley Matthews and Tony Smith and into seventh in MU history. Hayward also recorded 14 rebounds for his seventh double-double of the season.
  • Senior guard Maurice Acker dished out six assists without turning the ball over. Entering the game, Acker ranked 12th in the country with an assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.82. Acker also improves upon his BIG EAST-leading ratio of 4.0 in conference games (Now 4.6).
  • Marquette improves to 13-0 this season when shooting a higher field goal percentage than its opponent. MU shot 43.1 percent to USF's 35.5 percent.
  • With the win, Marquette picks up its fifth-consecutive victory, the most this season since starting the year 6-0.
  • The victory over USF marked the 50th win for the Golden Eagles in BIG EAST play. Marquette joined the conference for the 2005-06 season.
  • USF held a 14-4 advantage on the offensive glass, parlaying that into a 12-0 advantage in second-chance points.
  • Marquette was able to outscore USF 18-6 in fast-break points.
  • USF's Augustus Gilchrist played in his first game since Dec. 2 and scored the only points (7 points) for the Bulls off the bench.
