The Utah Jazz shooting guard had his first trading card released a few weeks ago. The NBA recently sold its trading card rights to Panini and although it has taken a while, Matthews first card is now on the market. Below is Panini brand manager Mike Payne's response to the availability of Matthews' cards, via Beckett Media LP's editor Tracy Hacker: "Wes Matthews does have an NBA card already on the market, it appears in Classics, which released nearly six weeks ago. He hasn't returned his autographed cards so they are redemption. "Matthews will also be in future programs, including Timeless Treasures and Absolute, as well as a couple others. Timeless releases next week. "What buyers can expect from Panini is a continued effort to get all rookies into our programs, whether they were drafted or not. Of course, those drafted appear in our sets from the outset. Those who sign free-agent deals are added later as they make the team, get into games, etc." Former Marquette men's basketball player David Cubillan will be featured on Sports32 Weekly on Tuesday night (May 4) when he interviews fellow Venezuelan Alcides Escobar of the Milwaukee Brewers.
