As the professional basketball season winds down, more and more former Marquette standouts are making their way back to campus. Wesley Matthews, whose debut NBA season has been well documented, was joined today by Ousmane Barro for an open gym run at the Al McGuire Center.
Barro helped lead Szolnok Olajbanyasz (Hungary-A Division) to a deep playoff run, averaging 15.6 points and 10.1 rebounds per game while shooting 68.4 percent from the floor. Szolnok was defeated by eventual league champion ZTE KK in the semifinals.
Barro was named first team all-league and earned both defensive player of the year and center of the year accolades.
The Dakar, Senegal, native has already been offered a three-year deal to return to the team.
