Kelly Kretz opens play today at Bryan Park Golf & Conference Center in Greensboro, N.C., in what is the Marquette senior's third straight appearance in the U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship.

Kretz took to the first tee at 7:10 a.m. Central Time today to begin his first round of action along with Brian Csipkes (Gretna, Neb.) and Maximilian Greil (Dana Point, Calif.).
The field will be reduced to 64 players after the second round, which will be played Tuesday, July 13. Match play then begins on Wednesday, July 14 and will run until Saturday, July 17 when a new U.S. Amateur Public Links champion will be crowned.
