Former Golden Eagle and current Marquette assistant golf coach Kyle Murphy has a one-stroke lead going into Wednesday's third round at the Wisconsin State Amateur Championship in Sheboygan Falls, Wis.
Murphy, who will tee off at 11:50 a.m. CT, is currently 5-under-par 139 (68-71) with two rounds remaining. Gary D'Amato of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel spoke to Murphy after Tuesday's second round at The Bull at Pinehurst Farms. Read the recap here.
Mike McDonald, who finished up his MU playing career this past season, will tee off at 11:10 a.m. and is currently tied for 12th place at 1-over for the tournament. Also surviving the cut was senior Ben Sieg (+11) and sophomore Ryan Prickette (+11). In all, three current MU golfers qualified for the event, including senior Kelly Kretz.
