Former Marquette University goalkeeper Matt Pyzdrowski earned the start Sunday night for the Portland Timbers in a friendly against Atlas of the Primera Division de Mexico.
Pyzdrowski made five saves in 85 scoreless minutes in goal in front of 7,113 fans at PGE Park in Portland. The Timbers led 1-0 at the time of Pyzdrowski's departure from the match and Atlas tied the game at 1-1 on a penalty kick in the 90th minute. The Timbers would ultimately prevail by winning the penalty-kick shootout by a final tally of 4-2.
