The Marquette women's soccer team returned to campus this week to begin
preseason training for the 2010 season.
After meetings took place and head shots were taken, the team embarked on
its first training session to prepare for its 18th season of competition,
15th in head coach Markus Roeders' tenure. The Golden Eagles will spend this
weekend in Waupaca, Wis., before heading to Camp Whitcomb for just over a
week of training and team bonding.
During its preseason training, Marquette will host Wisconsin in an
exhibition match at Valley Fields on Saturday, Aug. 14 at 7:30 p.m. Fan Fest
is slated for Friday, Aug. 20 at 5 p.m., prior to the Golden Eagles' season
opener against Idaho State at 7:30 p.m. at Valley Fields.
The Golden Eagles welcome back 23 letterwinners and five starters from a
season ago that captured MU's first-ever BIG EAST American Division
Championship and earned a berth in the NCAA Tournament with a 15-5-3 overall
record, 7-2-2 in BIG EAST play.
