It was a banner season for the Marquette women's basketball team in 2010-11. There were several notable accomplishments for the program, including a 24-9 overall record, a trip to the NCAA Championship Second Round and a top-five finish in BIG EAST Conference play.

The Golden Eagles' 24 wins marked the second most in program history. It was also the Golden Eagles first 20-win season since 2007-08. Marquette's 10 BIG EAST Conference wins marked the second time since MU joined the league in 2005 it has won at least 10 BIG EAST games.

Head coach Terri Mitchell guided MU to its ninth NCAA Championship appearance and first since the 2006-07 season. With 296 career victories, Mitchell stands second on MU's all-time wins list passing the legendary Al McGuire (295) with the Golden Eagles' win over Texas in the first round of the NCAA Championship. Mitchell is four wins shy of joining the 300-win club.

Individually, Angel Robinson finished her career as one of the most decorated players to ever don a Marquette uniform as she ranks in the top 12 in eight career statistical categories, including a MU-record 134 career games played. The All-BIG EAST First Team selection and WBCA All-America Team finalist stands second on the career steals (277), free throws made (434) and free throws attempted (600) lists, third in assists (570), sixth in points (1,699), eighth in field goals made (587) and 12th in rebounds (640). Robinson is the only player in program history to amass over 1,500 points, 500 rebounds, 500 assists and 250 steals for her career.

Tatiyiana McMorris inked her name in the MU record books following a sharp-shooting senior season. McMorris, an All-BIG EAST Second Team honoree, ranks in the top eight in four statistical categories: fourth on the all-time 3-point field goal percentage list (37.1), tied for fourth with 130 career games played, tied for sixth in 3-point field goals made (152) and eighth in 3-point field goals attempted (410).
