In celebration of the NCAA's National Student-Athlete Day, Marquette student-athletes, organized by the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), participated in a community outreach project Wednesday, April 13 with the St. Vincent de Paul Society of Milwaukee.

Three groups of MU student-athletes from the men's and women's track and field, cross country, soccer and basketball teams took two hour shifts serving meals to families in need.

The student-athletes helped out from 12:30 to 6:30 p.m.

St. Vincent de Paul is an international Catholic organization of lay persons which seeks, in a spirit of justice and charity, to help those who are suffering. St. Vincent De Paul seeks to provide person-to-person assistance that promotes human dignity and integrity.

The Society is concerned not only with relieving need but also with addressing the situations that cause it. St. Vincent De Paul provides meals to Milwaukee residents in need through the Vincent Family Meal Program.
