MADISON, Wis. - Former Marquette guard and current Portland Trail Blazer Wesley Matthews will be given the Edgewood College "Pat Richter" Favorite Sibling Award by the Madison Sports Hall of Fame when the club inducts its 49th annual class on Wednesday, June 1 at the Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center.
The award has been given annually since 1963 for an outstanding sports achievement by an individual who was born and raised in Madison.

Matthews joined the Trail Blazers as a restricted free agent in July 2010 and scored 15.9 points per game during his first year in the Rose City. (Blazers Bio Page) The ninth-leading scorer in Marquette history started 75 games for the Blazers, including all six playoff contests, and competed in the annual Rookie Challenge at the NBA All-Star Weekend in Los Angeles.
Last year's recipient was Nashville Predators defenseman Ryan Suter, who led Team USA to the silver medal in the Vancouver Winter Olympics. Prior to joining the Predators, Suter played at the Bradley Center with the Milwaukee Admirals during the 2004-05 season.
