Team Canada has been one of the surprises thus far at the FIBA U19 Women's Basketball World Championship and Marquette sophomore-to-be Katherine Plouffe has been integral to the Canadians' success and its undefeated 4-0 mark.
Through four games of the tournament, Plouffe has contributed 8.0 points and 6.2 rebounds per game, while also making a team-high 65 percent of her attempts from the floor.
Canada won Group A with three run-away victories over China (76-49), Egypt (99-54) and Italy (75-51), and is currently in the final stage of Group E play. Canada defeated Russia Monday afternoon, 66-50. The Canadians have two more games in Group E to play against Japan on Tuesday and the United States on Wednesday.
The top four teams from Groups E and F will advance to the quarterfinals with the four winners moving on to the semifinals. The title game is set for Sunday, July 31.
