VanLieshout and Webb Named to WIAC All-Time Teams

Madison, Wis. - The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletics Conference (WIAC) is selecting all-time teams in men's and women's sports that have been classified as "championship" sports at some point during the conference's 100-year history. Former Marquette University Student-Athletes Barb VanLieshout and Katie Webb have been named to the WIAC All-Time Tennis and All-Time Women's Cross Country Teams, respectively.

Van Lieshout was a member of the Marquette women's tennis team from 1982-1985, where she was the No. 1 singles player each season as well as playing No. 1 doubles in 1984 and 1985.  The Menasha, Wis. native helped MU capture the WIAC Championship in 1982 and 1983, as VanLieshout won the WIAC No. 1 singles title both years and the No. 2 doubles title in 1982. VanLieshout posted a career singles record of 67-17 and doubles record of 66-15.

Webb was a four-time cross country All-American from 1981 to 1985 when she was a member of the MU cross country team. In 1982, Webb was the individual national champion at the national cross country championship and helped MU win the overall title. Webb also participated in track and field during her time at Marquette, she captured the NAIA outdoor 10,000 meter crown in 1985.

VanLieshout was inducted into the Marquette M Club Hall of Fame in 1999, while Webb entered in 1996.

Marquette jumps to No. 11 in AP & Coaches Polls

On the heels of its 61-54 victory at Wisconsin on Saturday, Marquette has moved up to No. 11 in both the AP and ESPN/USA Today Coaches Polls.

The Golden Eagles are No. 1 in the country according to Jeff Sagarin's computer rankings and No. 6 in Ken Pomeroy's ratings

Marquette is back in action Tuesday vs. Washington at Madison Square Garden. MU returns home to the Bradley Center on Saturday, tipping off vs. Green Bay at 8 p.m. CT.
