Sports32's January episode of the Terri Mitchell Show on aired on Saturday night prior to the tip between Marquette and Syracuse at the Al McGuire Center.
Host Kareeda Chones-Aguam and the coach talked about the team's solid play heading into BIG EAST play and the importance of Pat Summitt's recent visit with the program. The show also featured well-traveled assistant coach and MU alum Christina Quaye (2003-07), who spent time playing in Greece, Spain, Puerto Rico and Germany before coming back to her alma mater. Freshman Brooklyn Pumroy was also part of the show, talking about her steep learning curve as a first-year starting point guard.

MILWAUKEE - After the completion of seven fall NCAA Championships, Marquette University ranks 29th in the NCAA Division I Learfield Sports Directors' Cup Standings, the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) announced Thursday.
The Golden Eagles are first among non-football playing institutions with 139.00 points and fifth among all universities in the BIG EAST Conference. Marquette earned 64 points from women's soccer advancing to the NCAA Regional Semifinals and 50 points from men's soccer making the NCAA Second Round. The women's volleyball program also racked up 25 points after making its second NCAA Championship appearance in as many years. Men's and women's cross country in addition to women's field hockey and men's water polo are the other sports counted in the current standings. Head coach Buzz Williams also recaps the victory over rival Wisconsin.

MILWAUKEE - Roughly 40 members of the Marquette University men's track and field team gathered Sunday morning at Estabrook Park to help eliminate invasive plant species. Senior Kyle Winter, the defending BIG EAST Conference champion in the indoor 800-meter run, organized the effort through the Volunteer Center of Milwaukee and the squad worked for three hours to clear buckthorn and honeysuckle, two invasive plants threatening the park. "The men's team really enjoys these types of activities," Marquette head coach Bert Rogers sad. "Not only did we spend some quality time bonding as a team, we also helped out the Milwaukee County Parks. With about 40 men all working hard together, we made a significant visual difference in the area that we were working." Estabrook Park is common training ground for Marquette's distance runners and is located on the eastern bank of the Milwaukee River, just north of E. Capitol Dr.
