The 1995 campaign marked the debut of the Golden Eagles' men's and women's track and field teams at the Valley Fields, an athletic complex and recreational facility for members of the Marquette and Milwaukee communities. The Valley Fields are located at 1818 W. Canal St. Valley Fields was the site of the 1999 Conference USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, as well as the Great Midwest Conference Outdoor Championships in 1995.The $8 million facility includes an eight-lane, 400-meter running track that was resurfaced in 2005. The track surrounds an artificial turf field and an area for field events such as the long jump, high jump, triple jump, pole vault, shot put and discus. The Valley Fields also house a lighted grass field that is home to the Golden Eagles' men's and women's soccer teams and a second artificial turf field for intramurals, recreational and club sports activities. The track received a resurfacing prior to the 2005-06 academic year. A new throws area was added during the summer of 2007 Adjacent to the track is Valley Fields which features a lighting system, first aid and vending areas and a high-tech security system. A donor wall is located in the vestibule of the facility's main building -- the gatehouse.
