Manual Resistance Push Ups

Muscles Used Primary: pectoralis group. Secondary: anterior deltoid, triceps.
Starting Position Begin in a push up position, arms extended with hands shoulder width apart. Head should be up and body should be straight.
Description Lower chest to touch the ground while keeping head up and body straight. Return to the starting position.
Spotting The spotter should stand over the top of the lifter with both hands on the lifter's shoulder blades. Apply resistance by pushing down.
Points To Emphasize 1. The lifter should keep his/her body straight at all times.
2. If the lifter is unable to return to the starting position, assist the lifter by lifting at the hips.
