Muscles Used Primary: latissimus dorsi, rhomboids; Secondary: biceps
Starting Position Lifter sits upright on the floor with his/her right leg extended and the left leg bent. The right arm is extended forward and the left arm is across the lap.
Description Starting at the extended position, pull the elbow back, pause for a moment, then return to the starting position.
Spotting Kneel on the left knee and hold it against the lifter's right foot for leverage. Grasp the forearm of the lifter, use 2 hands if necessary. Resistance is given by pulling on the arm that is being exercised.
Points To Emphasize 1. The lifter's body should remain relaxed throughout the exercise.
2. Keep the arm close into the body throughout the full range of motion.
