Marquette Names Rich McGill Assistant AD For Marketing

Milwaukee, WI -- Marquette University Athletics Director Bill Cords has announced that Rich McGill will assume the duties of Assistant Athletics Director for Marketing effective June 5.
McGill comes to Marquette after working in the athletics marketing department at the University of Maryland since July of 1996, the last two years as the Director of Marketing. During his tenure as the director, McGill was responsible for overseeing the marketing and promotions efforts for UM's 25 intercollegiate teams. Under his guidance, the Terrapin athletic department signed the largest sponsorship deal in school history with Allfirst Bank worth $900,000 over three years. He oversaw the athletic merchandise royalty and licensee program that produced $200,000 in revenue, as well as playing a vital role in selling and maintaining over $400,000 worth of stadium signage in the football, basketball and baseball venues. In addition, McGill was the department liaison for the Terrapin Radio Network. Prior to that appointment, he was the department's Assistant Director of Marketing and helped develop a group sales campaign for football as well as overseeing all game-day management for football, men's basketball and the NCAA Lacrosse Championships.
Prior to his stint at Maryland, McGill worked as a marketing assistant at the University of Louisville (1995-96) and Northern Illinois (1993-95).

A native of Buffalo Grove, Ill., McGill received his Bachelor of Science Degree in marketing from Winona State in 1992. He went on to obtain his Master of Sport Management Degree in Northern Illinois in 1995.
