Starting Position Lie face down on a flat bench, let arms hang down so that the palms are facing each other.
Description Raise arms up and out to the sides until elbows are level with the shoulders. Squeeze shoulder blades together. Pause momentarily and then recover to the starting position.
Spotting Be prepared to assist at the elbows or the wrists.
Points To Emphasize 1. Keep head in neutral alignment.
2. Make sure when raising the elbows they come out directly to the side and not back.
