Marquette Athletics Wins Marketing Award

June 7, 2007

MILWAUKEE - The Marquette athletic marketing department was awarded a NACMA Gold Award in the category of Single Newspaper Display Ad. The organization presents awards to the top three entrants in various categories in three different divisions.

The Marquette award marks the ninth honor in the four year history of the program. It is the second Gold (first place) award presented to Marquette, which won gold for its radio campaign last year.

Creative and design work on the newspaper display ad campaign was done by Zizzo Group Advertising and Public Relations in Milwaukee.

"It is a great honor to be recognized by NACMA," said Craig Pintens, Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Ticket Sales. "We certainly owe a lot of our success to both our graphic designer Tim Raasch and the team at Zizzo."

Gold, silver and bronze awards were presented to schools in each of 16 marketing and promotional categories. The awards program was instituted in 2003.

NACMA is administered by NACDA (National Association of Collegiate Athletic Directors), now in its 42nd year, is the professional and educational association for more than 6,100 college athletics administrators at more than 1,600 institutions throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico. More than 2,000 athletics administrators annually attend the NACDA Convention. Additionally, NACDA administers nine professional associations for the separate business units that report directly to the athletics director.
