Putt For The Eagles 2000 A Success
June 29, 2000
Milwaukee, WI -- The Putt For the Eagles 2000 fundraiser benefitting Marquette University athletics was a big success as the event raised $20,000 for the school's athletic department.
On Tuesday, June 27, a sold-out contingent of 152 golfers teed it up for the school's athletic program at the Bristlecone Pines Golf Course in Hartland. Following the golf portion of the event, participants attended a luncheon and many of those walked away winners in raffle contests or were the recipients of door prizes. Among the luminaries of the MU athletic department who were in attendance were Head Men's Basketball Coach Tom Crean and Women's Head Basketball Coach Terri Mitchell.
The results of the Putt For The Eagles 2000 pleased Assistant Athletic Director For Advancement Al Frisone, himself one of the attendees of the function.
"The Putt For The Eagles committee did an outstanding job in preparing and staging this wonderful event," said Frisone. Co-chairs Linda Raymonds and Mary Ellen Markowski, along with Patty Harsch, put on a first-class event that everybody enjoyed and one that is certainly important to Marquette athletics."
Next year's Putt For The Eagles will be held at Bristlecone Pines on June 26, 2001.
