#WeAreMarquette Campaign Begins Sept. 1
Aug. 29, 2016 Marquette fans will have the unique opportunity to share their thoughts on what makes the University’s athletics program special and unique with the debut of the #WeAreMarquette campaign on Sept. 1.
Through fan-generated content, Marquette will share the memories of our dedicated fan base through the department’s official social media accounts, in printed materials, online and on billboards in the greater Milwaukee area.
Two lines of text will be featured during the #WeAreMarquette campaign as the first line, “We Are _____” will be filled in by fans or the University and coordinate with the accompanying photo. The second line remains consistent, “We Are Marquette.”
“The ‘We Are’ campaign creates a visual celebration of the values and achievements of Marquette Athletics through simple words and phrases combined with photo illustrations,” said Katie Glunt, Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing & Fan Engagement. “Our department has created messages to start this process, but our hope is Marquette fans will share their personal connection to our teams.”
Marquette fans are invited to share their stories through photos and posts on all social media channels using #WeAreMarquette. This will be in addition to the ability to submit messages and photos through email (email@example.com) for those who aren’t active on social media.
Stories and photos submitted via Twitter will be re-tweeted through the main @muathletics account. For a story shared on Facebook, it will be added to an album on the department’s official page (/GoMarquette). All photos and stories will be considered for potential larger advertising pieces and future campaigns.
“Our fans have great affinity for our athletics programs and what Marquette means to them will be proudly displayed through their submissions,” Glunt said. “We look forward to combining efforts with our followers to not only celebrate what our athletics department is, but also define for others who we are.”
As the University continues its celebration in 2016-17 of 100 years of men’s basketball, fans are encouraged to provide examples of their favorite memories from the program’s storied history. Current and former members of Marquette’s faculty and staff will be selected for a special video series to be featured during the upcoming season.
