MILWAUKEE - Marquette University athletics had another stellar week as seven teams were in action. The men's tennis team competed in the Milwaukee Tennis Classic over the weekend, placing second out of a four-team field, due in large part to the performance by freshman Mark Rutherford, who went 6-0 (3-0 in singles, 3-0 in doubles). The women's soccer team defeated No. 12 Connecticut, Friday, 1-0, in double overtime on a strike by junior Allison Mallams, highlighting a 2-0-0 weekend for the Golden Eagles at Valley Fields. On the links, junior Michael Bielawski placed second at The McLaughlin over the weekend in Farmingdale, N.Y., leading MU to a third place finish.
