The Week in Review ...

Cross Country

? The Marquette women's cross country team won its fifth straight Conference USA Championship on Saturday. The men's team placed sixth in the meet. Junior Jodi Jakubek took second overall at the meet, earning first-team All C-USA honors. Sophomore Heidi Lindeman earned second-team All-C-USA honors for the second consecutive year. Also earning third-team All C-USA honors was junior Susie Emond. Head coach Dave Uhrich won his seventh C-USA Women's Cross Country Coach of the year award. The men were led by Brent Des Roches who finished third overall, earning first-team All C-USA honors for the second consecutive year.

Women?s Soccer (11-7-1, 7-2-1 C-USA)

? The Marquette women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision on Wednesday to Wisconsin at Valley Fields. The team followed that up with a victory on Saturday over Saint Louis, 1-0, in its regular season finale. It was Saint Louis? only C-USA loss of the season. Junior Julie Thompson scored the goal for Marquette, which came in overtime in the 108th minute. The win gave Marquette the no. 3 seed in the upcoming Conference USA Tournament.

Men?s Soccer (5-10-1, 1-6-1 C-USA)

? The Marquette men's soccer team dropped a 3-1 decision to Wis.-Milwaukee on Tuesday. Senior Chris Lee scored Marquette?s only goal. On Friday, the Golden Eagles defeated Wright State, 1-0, in Dayton, Ohio. Sophomore Matt Blouin scored his sixth goal of the season and the goal marked his sixth straight match with a point.

Volleyball (16-6, 6-3 C-USA)

? The Marquette volleyball team?s six-match win streak came to an end with a narrow loss, 3-2, at Memphis on Friday. Marquette was led by senior middle blocker Erica Heisser, who had 14 kills and nine blocks. On Saturday, Marquette returned to the win column with a 3-2 win at Saint Louis. Senior Sarah Vernon had Marquette?s first triple double of the season and the second of her career as she led Marquette in a come- from-behind effort. Marquette scored the final five points of the match to win the fifth game, 16-14.

? Junior Heather Goranson was named Conference USA Women?s Soccer Player-of-the- Week. She was also named to the Soccer Buzz National Elite Team-of-the-Week.

? Head cross country coach Dave Uhrich was named Conference USA Coach-of-the- Decade. Former student-athletes Susan Barth and Amy Erickson along with current senior Brianna Dahm were named to the Conference USA All-Decade Team.

Games to Watch ...

Monday, Nov. 1

? The Golf team plays in its final tournament of the fall, the 49er Collegiate Classic. The tournament concludes on Nov. 2.

Wednesday, Nov. 3

? The women?s soccer team begins action in the Conference USA Tournament as the no. 2 seed. Marquette takes on Charlotte in the first round at 2:30 p.m. The tournament continues through Nov. 6.

? The Milwaukee Tennis Classic returns to the Helfaer Tennis Center. The tournament runs through Monday, Nov. 8.

? The men?s soccer team wraps up its home season with a match against Wisconsin at 7 p.m. at Valley Fields. The three Marquette seniors will be honored.

? The men?s basketball team plays for the first time at the Al McGuire Center, hosting Lewis in an exhibition contest at 7 p.m.

Friday, Nov. 5

? The Marquette volleyball team plays its second-to-last home match of the season, hosting Tulane at 7 p.m.

Saturday, Nov. 6

? The Marquette volleyball team plays Southern Miss, concluding the home portion of the regular season. The three Marquette seniors will be honored.

Sunday, Nov. 7

? The men?s soccer team wraps up its season at Cincinnati at 1 p.m. EST.
