Nearly 500 supporters of Marquette Athletics attended the Blue & Gold Fund Auction Friday night at the Alumni Memorial Union and the group's tremendous generosity generated a record $500K in support of student-athlete scholarships.
Men's soccer player C. Nortey was the event's featured student-athlete speaker and shared the story of his amazing journey to Marquette and the importance scholarship resources were to making it all possible. The items that raised the most money on Friday night included a round of golf with University President Dr. Michael R. Special thanks to the entire auction committee for making the event such a huge success, especially to co-chairs Lisa and John Wilson.
The Blue & Gold Fund Holiday Blitz is also currently running through the end of the month and thanks to the success of the auction, the final goal has been increased to $600K. Over the course of the last two years, the blitz has raised over $800K in support of scholarships.
