The Week in Review ...

Women?s Basketball (8-1, 1-0 BIG EAST)

? Junior Danielle Kamm scored 10 of her 13 points during a crucial second-half stretch, as Marquette extended win streak to six, downing Wis.-Milwaukee, 70-62, at the Al McGuire Center on Sunday. The win improved the Golden Eagles' record to 8-1 overall ? the best start in program history. Down by as many as 10 points in the second half ? 37-27, with 17:50 to play ? Marquette rallied back to take the lead on a Kamm trifecta with 13:24 left, making the count 41-39. Kamm capped off the 19-6 run with a traditional three-point play, giving MU a five-point advantage at 46-41 with just under 12 minutes to go. Senior Carolyn Kieger led MU with 16 points, seven assists, and five steals.

Men?s Basketball (7-3)

? Senior Steve Novak registered a game high 22 points including six three pointers to pace the Marquette men?s basketball team to a 61-48 win over San Francisco on Saturday. Freshman guard Jerel McNeal tied his career high with 15 points, while sophomore Ryan Amoroso tallied eight points and eight rebounds in his first start of the season, the fourth of his career. Freshman guard Wesley Matthews contributed seven points and seven rebounds to help the Golden Eagles? effort.

? Senior Julie Thompson and sophomore Laura Boyer were both honored by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America as part of its Great Lakes Region First Team on Monday.
