Matt Johnson returned to his alma mater and joined the Blue and Gold Fund in March 2017 as an Assistant Director of Development.
Johnson joins the Blue and Gold Fund after three years as an Associate Director of the Army A Club at the United States Military Academy. While with Army West Point Athletics, Johnson assisted with the cultivation of annual gifts in support of the Cadet-Athlete experience. Prior to his time at Army West Point, he served as a development graduate assistant with Illinois State University's Weisbecker Scholarship Fund and also as a marketing and ticketing assistant at the University of Rhode Island. While at ISU, Johnson assisted with the cultivation of gifts to the Hancock Stadium renovation, as well as the sale of premium seating. In addition, Johnson worked for the Milwaukee Brewers as an intern for the Brewers Community Foundation during the 2010 season.
A 2011 graduate of Marquette, Johnson earned degrees in marketing and entrepreneurship. While at MU, he served as a marketing intern for the athletics department from 2009 to 2011. Johnson graduated with a Master of Science degree in sport management from Illinois State in 2014. A native of Bettendorf, Iowa, Johnson currently resides with his wife, Elizabeth, in Milwaukee.
