Mike Wittliff, who was promoted to Director of Communications in December of 2014, is entering his 10th year in Marquette's Department of Intercollegiate Athletics in 2017-18. He serves as the primary contact for the women's soccer and men's lacrosse programs and is the secondary men's basketball contact. He has also served in the same capacity with the women's volleyball, women's lacrosse and the men's and women's cross country and track and field teams.
In addition to creating increased visibility for Marquette's athletic programs, he served as the Host Media Coordinator for the 2017 NCAA Men's Basketball Championship in Milwaukee and was the Assistant Media Coordinator in both 2010 and 2014.
He has also helped Marquette host the 2011 and 2012 BIG EAST Conference Women's Volleyball Championships, the 2009 and 2013 BIG EAST Cross Country Championships and the first round of the 2016 NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championship.
He is entering his 14th academic year with the department overall, having served as a student assistant during all four years of his undergraduate career. During the summer of 2007 he served as a Marquette men's basketball ticket sales representative and spent time as a media relations intern with the Milwaukee Brewers in 2006.
Originally from Port Huron, Michigan, Wittliff received a bachleor's degree in public relations and history in May 2008 as well as a master's in leadership in 2016.
