Jose Genao is in his first year as the Assistant Director of Compliance at Marquette University. In his role, Genao will assist in overseeing Marquette's student-athletes, athletic staff members, and booster's compliance with NCAA regulations.

Genao joins Marquette after holding the assistant compliance position at Harvard University. During his year at Harvard, he managed the compliance of 41 Crimson athletic programs with NCAA and Ivy League rules and regulations.

Before Harvard, Genao was the compliance graduate assistant at the University of Massachusetts Amerst from 2010-2011. While completing his masters in sports management at UMass, he served as a volunteer assistant for the track and field team in addition to his role in the athletic department's compliance office.

Originally from Port Jefferson Station, N.Y., Genao received a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Notre Dame in 2008. He was a member of the track and field team at Notre Dame.
