Ridgeway works closely with the men's basketball team in planning academic schedules, monitoring the progress and status of student-athletes, coordinating the NCAA Clearinghouse Program, assisting with the admissions process by evaluating high school and junior college transcripts and helping with new student orientation and personal academic counseling. In addition, she serves as the advisor to the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). Ridgeway spent two years with the Milwaukee Public Schools as a Speech-Language Pathologist, where she provided language and articulation treatment and evaluation to culturally diverse elementary school students. Ridgeway ran track for four years at Howard University in Washington, D.C. and received her bachelor's of science in speech-language pathology in 2001. Her minor was sports administration. In 2003, she earned her master's degree in speech-language pathology while working as a graduate assistant to the athletics director in the Howard Athletics office. Ridgeway also holds a Master of Education in College Student Personnel Administration from Marquette. A native of Milwaukee, she attended Nicolet High School in Glendale and currently resides in Brown Deer with her husband, LeVar, and their daughter, Brooke. |
