Busy Week For Men's Basketball Team Highlighted By Marquette Madness
Oct. 11, 2009
The Marquette University men's basketball team has a busy week ahead of it, highlighted by Marquette Madness Friday night at the Al McGuire Center. Doors will open at 5 p.m. for the event, with the volleyball team facing Georgetown at 6 p.m. and the basketball-related activities beginning right after the conclusion of the match. The Golden Eagles will wrap up Boot Camp well before sunrise on Wednesday morning before the program's annual media day that afternoon. Buzz Williams will open the media session with a Q&A, followed by the team photo and one-on-one interviews. MU will wear its popular "baby blue" version of the team jersey, with the shorts featuring the Jordan Brand logo. In advance of media day, Williams will appear on ESPN 540 at 1 p.m. Tuesday afternoon on the D-List. The men's portion of madness will include a team introduction, dunk contest and scrimmage. Members of the Milwaukee Bucks will serve as dunk contest judges, including current assistant coach and former Marquette standout Jim Boylan. View a portion of the introduction video below.
Matthews, McNeal Update: Former MU players Jerel McNeal and Wesley Matthews remain in training camp with the Los Angeles Clippers and Utah Jazz, respectively. McNeal made his debut late last week and Matthews has earned a pair of starting assignments.
