Joe True enters his 12th year on the Marquette athletics staff and serves as Associate Athletic Director for Development. He oversees all fundraising and development functions for the athletic department and serves as a member of the University's Advancements Leadership team.
Currently, True serves as the campaign manager for the Athletic Performance Research Center (APRC), a $120 million facility that will provide indoor training, workout and lockerroom spaces for multiple Marquette Athletics programs. The APRC will also serve as a world-class research facility for elite researchers and clinicians.
True began his career at Marquette as an intern for the Blue & Gold Athletic Scholarship Fund in July 2005 and has served in multiple fundraising roles during this tenure. His main responsibilities have been soliciting leadership and major gifts for the athletic department, with an emphasis on growing the Blue & Gold Athletic Scholarship Fund and the Athletic Endowed Scholarship Program. Under True's leadership, the number of endowed scholarships for the department has doubled and boasted records in annual scholarship dollars raised for five consecutive years.
Prior to his arrival at Marquette, Joe was a graduate assistant in the athletic ticket office at Northern Illinois University and served as an operations intern with the American Junior Golf Organization.
He was a four-year letter winner on the NIU golf team and was the President of the Student Athlete Advisory Council for two years. Joe received a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and Masters of Science in Sports Management from Northern Illinois University.
