The Marquette University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics has announced the debut of "Project 300," a comprehensive multimedia plan intended to feature each of the University's nearly 300 student-athletes during the 2013-14 campaign.

The goal is to recognize the accomplishments of each active roster member of the University's 16 varsity programs on at least one occasion from August 1, 2013 until the completion of the season around May 30, 2014.

"It's an ambitious goal, but I know the staff is looking forward to the challenge," Associate Athletic Director for Communications Scott Kuykendall said. "We know our student-athletes are collecting a tremendous amount of noteworthy accomplishments away from the field or court and it's our job to make sure as many of those stories are told as possible."

The content, which will be available on and the department's official social media accounts, will focus on the group's activities outside of competition. A concentrated effort will be made to highlight contributions centered around the University's four pillars; excellence, faith, leadership and service. Examples include community service initiatives, academic accomplishments, student organization involvement and details on interests outside of athletics.

Potential content ideas include video features, podcasts, Facebook and Twitter posts, photos, feature stories and more.

Fans will be able to track the progress of Project 300 on a special tumblr account (, created as a way to compile a comprehensive listing of the various formats utilized to distribute each individual update.

Men's basketball player Jamil Wilson, who will travel to Lithuania in August with Athletes In Action, is the first Golden Eagle to be featured.
