Blue & Gold Fund Auction Raises Nearly $120K
Sept. 16, 2013
The 2013 Blue & Gold Fund auction, which helps fund scholarship support for student-athletes at Marquette University, raised almost $120,000 on Friday night.
Over 250 people attended the annual event, including 70 student-athlete volunteers, which was hosted at The Pfister in downtown Milwaukee. The night's festivities included a silent auction, heads or tails game, a short program and was capped by a live auction.
"It was great to see our loyal supporters meet and interact with the beneficiaries of their support," Associate Athletic Director for Development Joe True said. "We are very appreciative to those who supported the auction as the proceeds benefit our annual scholarship fund, which is committed to fully fund all athletic scholarships at Marquette."
One of the top items was dinner with Buzz and Corey Williams, hosted by Louis and Jean Maier, which went for $10,000.
Jamil Wilson of the men's basketball team served as emcee and Kathryn Koeck of women's track & field led the live auction.
