Competition begins at 11 a.m.

Head Coach Bert Rogers on Rice:
"Anton will focus on the 800 here at Marquette and train with Kyle Winter and our 400-800 group. He also has great range. In addition to winning the Nebraska state meet in the 800 and finishing fourth in the 400, he anchored his 4x100 relay to a third-place finish at the state meet. He is a tall guy and I think has the tools to be very competitive in the BIG EAST."

High School: Rice earned four letters in track and field at Daniel J. Gross Catholic High School ... Won the 800-meter run at the 2012 Nebraska Class B state meet with a personal-best time of 1:53.72 ... Also claimed gold in the state meet as a junior in the 800, becoming the first male athlete from Gross to earn a first-place finish ... Notched top-five state finishes in the 400 (fourth, 49.76 seconds) and the 4x100-meter relay as a senior and the 400 as a junior ... Repeat victory in the 800 as a senior helped Cougars place fifth at the state meet ... Also earned three letters in football and two in basketball ... Earned academic all-state honors twice in basketball, once in football and was an all-conference and all-district honoree in football, where he played wide receiver and cornerback ... Student body president at Gross with a 4.0 GPA.

Personal: Rice was born in Omaha, Neb., and is the oldest of nine children to Bill and Debbie Rice ... Has four younger brothers (Vince, Will, Luke and Ben) and four younger sisters (Meg, Ellie, Anna and Emma) ... Plans to major in engineering.
