Placed fifth in her Marquette debut in the pole vault at the 2017 Blue and Gold Invitational (Dec. 1) with a height of 3.35 meters ... Just missed the podium placing fourth at the John Tierney Classic (Jan. 20) with a height of 3.10 meters ... Scored silver with a personal best vault of 3.45 meters at the UW Parkside Classic (Feb. 3). 

Prior to Marquette:
Lettered in track, volleyball and basketball at Wrightstown High School … Two-time Wisconsin state champion in pole vault (2015, 2017) and state runner-up in 2016 … Pole vaulted 9 feet, 9 inches in her freshman campaign and then improved that mark to 11 feet, 9 inches by her senior year, good enough for a personal best … Also served as captain of the track team during final season … School record holder in the 4x100-meter relay (50.22 seconds) … Awarded the Tigers’ MVP award her sophomore and senior year … Earned WIAA Scholar Athlete recognition in her final campaign at Wrightstown.

Personal: Buechler was born in Appleton, Wis. and is the daughter of Dan and Lynn Buechler … Has two older brothers, Brett and Brandon … Plans to major in speech pathology and audiology.
