Freshman John Krzyszkowski is the 2014 BIG EAST men's javelin champion, and a competitor with his own style. Learn more about the Mississauga, Ontario native as he heads to his first NCAA regional competition.

High School: Krzyszkowski earned five letters for track and field at Port Credit Secondary School while also playing basketball and volleyball ... Won the silver medal in the men's javelin (63.83 meters) at the 2013 Canadian Junior Track and Field Championships on July 13, 2013 to qualify for the 2013 Pan American Junior Athletics Championship in Medellin, Columbia on Aug. 23-25 ... Also competed at the 2013 Canadian Junior meet in the shot put and placed 10th with a top toss of 14.58 meters ... Named the Port Credit track and field overall MVP for four consecutive years ... Named the athlete of the year in 2009, 2010 and shared the honor in 2013 ... Holds the Port Credit record in the javelin (800g) with a throw of 63.50 meters, which he used to claim the Ontario South Regional Championship in 2013 ... Placed second at the OFSSA Championships in the javelin in 2013 and fifth in the shot put ... Port Credit record holder in the shot put with a throw of 16.73 meters, which he notched in 2012 during his 12th grade year at the OFSAA Championships ... Ranks second all-time at Port Credit for discus throw at 48.84 meters ... Claimed an OFSAA title in the javelin (600g) as a freshman in 2009 and was runner-up in 2010, while earning regional titles in the shot put (4kg) and discus (1kg) in 2010.
