Joe Kohut Position: Volunteer Assistant Coach

Joe Kohut is in his first year as a volunteer assistant throws coach with the track and field squad.

Kohut competed for the Golden Eagles from 2007-11 and was the president of Marquette's chapter of SAAC (Student-Athlete Advisory Council) as a senior during the 2010-11 school year.

2011: Competed in the shot put during both the indoor and outdoor seasons ... Threw 47 feet, 5 inches (14.45 meters) at the BIG EAST Indoor Championships (Feb. 20) to place 15th ... Placed 13th at the BIG EAST Outdoor Championships (May 7) with a toss of 48-6.75 (14.80 meters) ... Notched third-place finishes at the DePaul Invitational (April 16) and the USF Bulls Invitational (March 18) during the outdoor season and recorded a season-best throw of 49-5.50 (15.07 meters) at the Cardinal Twilight on May 13 ... Season-best indoor throw of 49-6.50 (15.10 meters) was recorded at the Bill Bergan Invitational on Jan. 29 ...BIG EAST Academic All-Star.
