"Brendan likely has the fasted 400 time coming out of high school as any recruit we have had here, and certainly the fastest during my tenure. He defiantly has the tools to be one of the best 400 runners to attend Marquette and should make an immediate impact on the BIG EAST. Unfortunately a quad injury early in his high school season wiped out his senior year, but he is now healed and hard at work getting ready for the season. I am excited to start working with him this fall."

High School: Porter earned three letters in track and field at American Heritage High School ... Held a personal best of 47.89 seconds in the 400-meter dash set at the AAU Summer Junior Olympic qualifying round in 2011 ... Placed 10th in the 400 in the 2011 AAU Summer Junior Olympics ... Placed eighth at the Florida state meet as a junior ... Missed entire senior year due to injury.
