MU has final tune-up for BIG EAST Championships
Track and field to compete Thursday-Sunday
Competition begins at 11 a.m.
MU will send athletes to Cincinnati and Calif.

Indoor (So.): Competed in 60 meters, 200 meters, 300 meters, 400 meters and long jump during the 2013-2014 indoor campaign ... Notched a personal-best time of 7.40 seconds running 60-meters at the UNI Jennett Invitational (Feb. 1) ... Posted a new personal-best of 23.85 seconds in the 200m race at the prestigious Notre Dame Blue & Gold Invitational (Dec. 6) ... Recorded a 10th-place finish and a new personal-best at the BIG EAST championship (Feb. 21) with a distance of 6.08 meters (19 feet, 11 1/2 inches).
Outdoor (So.): In his sophomore season was a multi-event participant competing mainly in 100 meters, 400 meters and 110m hurdles ... Took sixth, with a time of 11.41 running 100 meters at the Marquette Duals (April 4) ... Placed fourth running 110m hurdles at the BIG EAST championship (May 11) with a time of 19.45 ... Finished fifth and recorded a personal-best 4526 points in the decathlon at he Lee Calhoun Invitational (April 10/11).
High School: Smith was a three-sport athlete at McFarland High School, earning four letters in track and swimming and three in football ... Holds the school 100-meter dash record and was a conference and regional champion in the 4x100-meter relay ... Earned first team all-conference honors as a junior and senior... Named team captain, MVP and academic all-state as senior for football ... State qualifier as a junior and senior for swimming.
Personal: Son of Bryan and Leslie Smith... Has one sister, Allyson... Majors in biomechanical engineering.
