"We are excited about adding Lindsay to our vertical jumps crew. Lindsay comes in with a PR of 10'6" in the vault and shows great potential for development in the event. We've had a lot of success developing vaulters here at MU and with Lindsay's speed, she'll no doubt improve greatly over the next few years."

High School: Smoljan was a three-year letter winner in track and field at Providence Catholic High School ... Served as team co-captain as a junior and senior, while making an appearance at the state track and field meet each season ... Left PCHS as the school record holder in the pole vault ... Helped squad to a third-place sectional finish in 2012 and earned academic all-conference honors as a senior ... Earned one letter in cross country for the Celtics and two for cheerleading.

Personal: Smoljan is the daughter of Arthur and Dianna Smoljan and has an older brother, Mike ... Mother played tennis at Northern Illinois University and father played football at Illinois State ...
