"William had a very successful senior track season. He was consistently under 1:55 for the 800 and under 4:20 for the 1,600. He led his team to a podium spot in the 4x800 relay at the Illinois State Track and Field Championships. William will be a valuable asset for our team in the middle distance events."

High School: Hennessy earned four letters in track and field and three letters in cross country at Harry D. Jacobs High School where he captained both squads as a senior ... Three-time all-conference as well as a two-time all-county, all-regional and second team all-area performer in cross country ... Two-time cross country team MVP ... Graduated as the conference and Golden Eagles' 1,600-meter run record holder (4:18.55) ... Was the conference 1,600 champion as a senior while qualifying for the state meet ... Was also a two-time state qualifier in the 800 as a sophomore and junior ... Anchor leg of conference record-holding 4x800-meter relay team (7:54.91/1:56.5 split) ...
