2010-11: BIG EAST All-Academic Indoor (Fr.): Competed in the 800-, 1,000-, mile and 3,000-meter runs during the indoor season ... Ran twice in the 800 and mile with top times of 1:59.99 and 4:29.20 at the Bill Bergan (Jan. 29) and Milwaukee Tune-up (Feb. 18), respectively ...2011 Indoor Performance List. Prior to Marquette: Young earned four letters in cross country and one in track and field at Marmion Academy and served as team captain for both during the 2009-10 school year. With the Cadets' cross country program, Young was a four-time all-conference member, helping the squad to four-straight conference titles, and was named as the league's most valuable runner in 2009. In addition to being selected as the conference's top runner in 2009, he was named to the all-state team and honored as the Beacon News' Runner of the Year. In his only year on the track, Young was named the conference's top performer and helped his squad to a league title, in addition to qualifying for the state meet in the 4x800-meter relay and the mile.
