Koeck Wins Weight Throw at BU Last Chance

Koeck won the weight throw for the fourth time this indoor season.

BOSTON - Junior William Koeck notched his fourth meet victory of the indoor season in the weight throw on Sunday afternoon at the BU Last Chance Meet.

Koeck recorded a top throw of 19.77 meters (64 feet, 10.25 inches) and awaits the NCAA's release of the accepted meet entries for the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships on Tuesday, March 4.

The Winneconne, Wis., native is the 2014 BIG EAST Conference champion in the event and broke the Marquette record in that meet with a launch of 21.24 meters (68 feet, 8.25 inches).

As of Sunday evening, the last date that an individual can record a mark counted for NCAA qualification, Koeck sits 11th on the NCAA descending order list.

The top 16 declared student-athletes in each even will be accepted to the indoor national championships, which will be held on March 14-15 at the Albuquerque Convention Center in Albuquerque, N.M.

Redshirt junior Bret Hardin and senior Carlye Schuh placed third in the men's weight throw and women's long jump, respectively, to conclude their indoor campaigns.
