Jack Hackett Records Third-Fastest Mile in School History

NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Junior Jack Hackett recorded the third fastest mile time in Marquette history Saturday afternoon at the Alex Wilson Invitational with a time of 4:07.38. 

"What a great way to close out the indoor season," Marquette track and field head coach Bert Rogers said. "Jack ran a great race this afternoon and finished the season with some positive momentum."

The Port Washington, Wis., native placed 12th in the event and topped his previous personal best of 4:08.97, which was fifth in school history. 

Nick Szczech and Spencer Agnew also competed Saturday in the 3,000-meter run and finished 13th and 14th, respectively.

The Golden Eagles will begin the outdoor season Friday at the USF Open in Tampa, Fla.
