Texas Relays Results
Koeck's distance of 197 feet, 4 inches (60.16 meters) at the Bobcat Invitational was 14 inches farther than her mark on Thursday at the Texas Relays and marked her second-straight win.
"It was a tremendous weekend for her and I'm proud of how hard she's worked," head coach Bert Rogers said. "She's battled through some injuries the last couple years and she's really coming on strong."
In the women's discus, Maya Marion recorded a lifetime best performance with a throw of 126-7 (38.58m).
At the Texas Relays, Max Kilpin set an outdoor personal best in the high jump before withdrawing due to injury. He achieved a mark of 6-7 (2.01m), which is the eighth-best height in Marquette history.
On the track, Cassy Goodrich (55.15 sec.) and Anna Strong (55.34) turned in solid performances in the 400-meter dash, finishing in fifth and seventh place, respectively. Both times were second and third all-time in the Marquette record books. In fact, Goodrich's time bested Strong's freshman record, which was set last season.
"It was a beautiful night," Rogers said. "We really took advantage of the good competition and good weather to post good performances."
The Blue and Gold will resume action tomorrow.
