DURHAM, N.C. - The Marquette men's and women's track & field teams wrapped up competition, Saturday, at the Duke Asics Invitational at Wallace Wade Stadium in Durham, N.C.

"The weather made competing a little more difficult than day one," said head coach David Uhrich. "Mid-40's and wind didn't help our times or our marks, but we are still pleased with the performances today. Overall, we had a very successful meet and it was well worth the trip down here."

One of many highlights on the day came at the hands of Damian Anisko, who had another strong performance at the meet. Less than 24 hours after placing fourth in the hammer throw, he finished second in the discus with a toss of 156-11.

Tommy Schmitz (1:53.23) and Jed Burey (1:54.55) finished second and eighth in the 800m. Burey's time was a season best.

Despite the wind, Zach Pawlowski still finished fifth in the pole vault, clearing 14-7.25.

Ray Bratchett finished in a tie for second in the high jump by clearing 6-4.75, qualifying for the BIG EAST Outdoor Championships.

On the women's side, Heidi Lindeman finished 11th in the 3,000m steeplechase in a time of 11:21.59, qualifying for the BIG EAST Outdoor Championships.

In the discus throw, Audra Ketelsen (140-0) and Jenna Mahaffey (138-4) finished 10th and 11th. Mahaffey's toss was a season high.

Up next for the Marquette track & field team is the Marquette Invitational, April 13-14, at Shimek Track at Valley Fields.
