Women's Sprint Medley Relay sets MU Record at Drake Relays

DES MOINES, Iowa – The Marquette University men’s and women’s track and field teams concluded a busy weekend on Saturday afternoon at the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa.

The highlight of the day was a new program record set in the women’s sprint medley relay. Katie Kemmerer (200 meters), Carlye Schuh (200), Kate Hein (400) and Nicole Ethier (800) combined to run a time of 4:00.25 and finished 10th at the meet.

On the men’s side, Carson Meinholz, Brandon Bell, Glenn Lawrence Jr., and Anton Rice also ran the sprint medley relay and were 19th in 3:28.78.

Junior Samantha Kennedy kicked off action at Drake in the women’s hammer throw Saturday morning and placed ninth with a top mark of 54.54 meters (178 feet, 6 inches).

Bret Hardin and William Koeck each competed in the men’s hammer throw and finished 13th and 14th, respectively. Hardin recorded a distance of 56.02 meters (183-9), while Koeck’s top mark was 55.64 meters (182-6).



Redshirt senior Spencer Agnew finished ninth the men’s 1,500-meter run at a time of 3:55.37.

The Golden Eagles return to action on May 2-3 at Purdue’s Dave Rankin Invitational.
