DES MOINES, Iowa - Marquette University senior Brittney Feivor set the school-record in the 5,000 meters on Thursday night, highlighting day one action for the Golden Eagles at the 108th Drake Relays.
Feivor, who already held the Marquette record in the 5,000 meters from her performance at the Drake Relays back in 2015, improved that mark by 5 seconds to take 13th place with a time of 16:27.03.
Also in action on Thursday night was senior Alison Parker, who placed 16th in the 800 meters with a season-best of 2:12.36.
On the men's side, the 4x1,600-meter relay team of Brad Eagan, Henry Mierzwa, Christian Zambrano and Derek Gross finished in 10th place with a time of 17:17.04.
And in the final event of the night, the men's 5,000 meters, Jon Klaiber just missed an all-time list mark with a new personal-best of 14:35.04 to take 17th overall in his race.
Marquette will return to action on Friday, beginning with the women's long jump (10 a.m.) and high jump (Noon), followed by the men's 4x100-meter relay team seeking its fourth straight school-record when event prelims commence at approximately 12:05 p.m. Central time.
