Bret Hardin Sets New Personal Best in Hammer Throw at Purdue

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Redshirt junior Bret Hardin placed third in the men's hammer throw with a lifetime-best mark on Friday afternoon to begin action at Purdue's Dave Rankin Invitational in West Lafayette, Ind.
Hardin's recorded a top distance of 58.66 meters (192 feet, 5.50 inches) and all six of his throws were further than his personal best entering the meet. Teammates Joel McBride and Patrick Stuart also competed in the event.
The rest of the Dave Rankin Invitational is slated to begin Saturday at 9 a.m. Central time and will conclude following the men's 4x400-meter relay at 4:30 p.m. CT.
